Blue Economy Cooperative Research Centre (CRC)

The Centre for Policy Futures is part of the $70 million Blue Economy Cooperative Research Centre (CRC), announced on 16 April 2019, by Minister for Industry, Science and Technology, the Hon Karen Andrews MP.

The Blue Economy CRC brings together national and international expertise in aquaculture, marine renewable energy and marine engineering as part of a collaborative effort between industry, researchers and the community to develop innovative and sustainable offshore industries to increase Australian seafood and marine renewable energy production.

The Centre's Associate Professor Pedro Fidelman leads on policy and regulatory development - ensuring the arrangements are fit-for-purpose and using policy innovation to create the necessary conditions to support an integrated offshore blue economy.
