The Australian Government is building a framework to establish an offshore renewable energy industry to support the emissions target of net zero by 2050.

Associate Professor Pedro Fidelman and Dr Miguel Frohlich are leading a work package on policy and regulatory processes as part of a new research project by the Blue Economy CRC, which is exploring the potential of offshore wind power in Australia.

A new study published by Dr Miguel Frohlich and colleagues from The University of Queensland, University of Tasmania, BMT and the Tasmanian Department of Natural Resources and Environment explores Australia's blue economy policy and legislative arrangements.
