New project: Agri-Inputs and One Health in Cambodia: pathways to enhanced agricultural resilience

We're pleased to announce an exciting new partnership with the Centre for Policy Studies and the Royal University of Phnom Penh, supported by the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research! Led by Associate Professor Chris Jacobson, this project will explore knowledge gaps related to the integration of One Health principles into policy frameworks, identify barriers to effective implementation, and examine the role of community-based organisations in supporting these efforts in Cambodia.

Agriculture poses both benefits and risks to environmental and human health. In Cambodia, high rates of agri-input use, degradation of agricultural land and deforestation have been linked to degraded water quality, increased incidence of waterborne diseases, deterioration of riparian zones, increased flood and disaster risk and greater exposure to heat stress.
