Embedding sustainable change in gender equality: Working from the inside out

26 July 2021

The University of Queensland's Dr Lee Wilson and Dr Prudence Brown have been working with policy makers in UQ International Development and policy makers in Papua New Guinea to develop pioneering approaches to participatory policy research as part of a review of the current gender equity and social inclusivity policy.  Grounded in anthropology and political science, the team made use of applied ethnography and drew on feminist methodologies, in particular feminist institutionalism and the recognition that policy institutions are inescapably gendered, to help drive the review.  More can be read about the approach and the review here.
