Led by CPF, the Reef Restoration and Adaptation Program's Regulatory and Policy Environment Subprogram developed a robust and enabling regulatory environment for reef restoration and adaptation, and a world-leading regulatory and policy best-practice for reef adaption and restoration.
The Governance Principles for Novel Reef Interventions report summarises recommendations for governance principles for novel reef restoration and adaptation intervention.
Three very broad governance recommendations were identified from the literature, which primarily focused on:
Flexible policy and decision-making that can better accommodate change;
Co-designed and collaborative engagement; and
A policy 'rethink' to better support the risk and scale of interventions.
