As part of The Internet Society's Mid-Career Fellowship Program, Dr Ray Maher, Dr Allison Fish, and Dr Jen Yarnold have received funding over the course of 2022-23 as CIs on the Systems and Design Thinking module. The program is delivered each year to small groups of mid-career fellows from diverse industries across a number of countries through a dynamic and collaborative learning environment. Fellows are given the opportunity to develop new knowledge and practical skills to navigate complex issues, integrate perspectives from diverse stakeholders, develop innovative initiatives, and inform their decisions as they grow and strengthen the internet. Presentations from leading experts are paired with guest presentations from internet-focused experts and fortnightly talks on current issues. Fellows will engage with these issues through collective and small groupactivities via shared case studies of critical issues, and their own projects.
The project for the Systems and Design Thinking module involves:
- Developing course materials
- Delivering 4 x 2-hour online classes, and
- Reviewing the Fellow’s assessment.
This module provides Fellows with systems and design thinking concepts, approaches, and practical tools to inform their decisions in shaping the future of the Internet.
