In collaboration with Ariel Care Pty Ltd (a Brisbane-based company that focuses on the development and commercialisation of high and aged care assistive technologies), this project aimed to develop a human-centered perspective on privacy concerns of persons with disabilities, in the context of living in NDIS-supported smart homes. While these smart homes use advanced AI and assistive technologies, an important but often neglected issue, is the impact on the privacy of people who live and work in these homes. Privacy is central to a positive experience of home and is one of the core issues in cybersecurity, especially when the participant group is vulnerable and may not be able to perceive implications of sensor-based smart homes.
This project was led by UQ Cyber.
