European Coastal Systems in the Fast Lane of Climate Change

Professor Karen Wiltshire, Chair of Climate Science, Trinity College Dublin

Professor Karen Wiltshire is a distinguished climate ecologist and expert in coastal research, with a focus on long-term changes in marine systems. She is the CRH Chair of Climate Science at Trinity College Dublin and previously served as Vice-Director of the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research.

Her research explores climate change and marine ecosystem dynamics. Professor Wiltshire has authored over 350 scientific publications and is the Lead Coordinating Author for the UN Global Environment Outlook 7 (Oceans and Coasts Chapter).

In this seminar, Professor Wiltshire will discuss the impacts of climate change on European coasts, highlighting key challenges and future directions for coastal resilience.
