Australia Battery Day 2023

28 September 2023

The Centre for Policy Futures and the Advanced Materials and Battery Council once again brought together Australia Battery Day at The University of Queensland, on 26 September 2023.

The agenda for the day included a wide variety of sessions, from keynotes to panels and elevator pitches.

Guests were welcomed by Vice Chancellor Professor Deborah Terry AO, and the opening address was given by The Honourable Glenn Butcher, Minister for Regional Development and Manufacturing and Minister for Water.

Keynote speakers included Jeff Phillips from Jekara Group, Prof Roy Green from Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing (ARM) Hub, and Harry Fisher from Benchmark Mineral Intelligence. Panellists discussed the importance of investment, policy making, research, technology and workforce skills for the advancement of Australian Made Batteries, and the audience was given food for thought and the chance to network across the advanced materials and battery ecosystem.

A few comments from the audience:
“Congrats on pulling together such high quality event”
“We all enjoyed the wide diversity of presentations and the discussion forums”
“Well done on battery day. I am sitting here and really enjoying it”.
