Researcher biography

Dr Fran Donoso works in the space of educational policy and equity. She is interested in analysing the effect of educational policies on the opportunities of students from different backgrounds to participate and succeed in education and, more broadly society.

Fran is experienced in conducting advanced quantitative analyses using administrative information and large-scale surveys. However, an important aspect of her research is the combination of quantitative methods with theoretical frameworks of class and social justice as well as her interest in conducting mixed method studies and work in interdisciplinary research-spaces.

During her professional career, she has led different international projects, such as PIAAC and TALIS video study, working overseas in universities as well as government departments.

Currently, she works for the Research Office of The Queensland Commitment and as a Research Fellow in the Centre for Policy Futures.
