Researcher biography

Tolulope’s expertise is in IP law and international trade law. His research interests are principally in pharmaceutical patent law and biotechnology law and how these fields interface with key policy areas including sustainable development and public health. His PhD was completed at the City University of Hong Kong and was funded by the University Grants Committee of Hong Kong and the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition, Germany. Following his doctoral research, he has worked with the Faculty of Law, Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition as a postdoctoral research fellow. He holds a German and European Law Certificate from the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, Germany, and he is qualified as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. He is currently a consultant to the South African Research Chair in Industrial Development, University of Johannesburg, and the United Nations Office of the Special Adviser on Africa. Among other past experiences, he has held teaching positions at the City University of Hong Kong and Landmark University, Nigeria.
