Researcher biography

Nicola works on the Sustainability Framework for SM Bay City project, and is focussed on making recommendations to maximise the biodiversity sustainability of a new development, while thinking ahead to the possible impacts of future developments on this important biodiversity hotspot. Nicola draws on experience and knowledge gained through work as a PhD candidate the School of Biological Sciences at The University of Queensland. She investigates human-nature interactions, and is specifically focussed on urban greenspaces, including their effects on both humans and other species. Before this, Nicola completed a Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours) at The University of Queensland.
