With the intensity of the current housing crisis, any activity that enables young people experiencing homelessness to voice what matters to them, and what could make their lives better, is particularly important to drive societal transformation. Anglicare Southern Queensland advocates for such systems change and provides crisis and medium-term accommodation and support services to young people who are homeless. It similarly provides advocacy, accommodation, and support for young people in the out of home care system and young people ageing out of care. Anglicare Southern Queensland is also aiming to build a for-purpose youth accommodation service. The study is a collaboration between Anglicare Southern Queensland and UQ and will use Photovoice method to explore young people’s knowledge of their lived experiences of homelessness and housing support services like Anglicare's.
