Policy 101: Understanding Public Policy and its Making

Learn how to produce policy-relevant research findings and recommendations by developing a scholarly-based understanding of public policy. This training workshop helps researchers make sense of what public policy is and how it is made by: 

  • Presenting the concepts of policy and policy-making;
  • Introducing the actors, both official and unofficial, involved in policy-making;
  • Explaining the policy process, from design to implementation and evaluation; and
  • Providing a summary of approaches to study public policy
