Getting Research into Policy and Practice (GRiPP) is a one day workshop designed to help researchers and students navigate Australia’s policy landscape in an interactive one-day forum.
Featuring a team of UQ’s policy experts and delivered by the Centre for Policy Futures, GRiPP includes a panel discussion and provides a comprehensive overview of the policy landscape including:
- An introduction to Australia’s federal system and the respective roles and responsibilities of local, state/territory and federal governments.
- Showcase of a number of successful ‘science-to-policy’ case studies.
- Exploration of what evidence-based policy means in practice.
- Shared experiences – good and bad – of interacting and engaging with the policy process, including insights into how you can connect your research with policy and program development.
- An explaination of the difference between the political and policy spheres.
- Exploration of the relationship between politics and science funding.
Impact and influence
Your research may have the potential to impact both policy and practice and influence the broader community in a number of ways.
