Professor Vigneswara Ilavarasan, Abdulaziz Alsagar Chair and Professor at the Department of Management Studies, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, shall attempt to understand the future of the biotechnology industry in India in two strands:
(i) Whether the trajectory of Indian IT services industry offers valuable insights for the growth of biotech industry? and
(ii) Whether the present booming startup ecosystem in India accelerates the biotech industry?.
Using a quick review of literature and trade press reports, Professor Vigneswara Ilavarasan shall discuss these issues as well as propose questions for future research.
