Advancing equitable and non-discriminatory access to health services for First Nations peoples: A multidisciplinary Queensland Human Rights Act case study

There is urgent need for truth telling & self-determination to address the actualities &inter-generational health & wellbeing impacts of racial discrimination in our country’s health services & complex health system. Singular interventions that particularly focus on quantifying Indigenous Australian’s morbidity & mortality & inequalities, as opposed to addressing the inequities that cause them, is a key & much needed paradigm shift in the way Indigenous health research is approached.

This unique Indigenous-led project is a collaboration with 5 Indigenous and 4 non-Indigenous CI researchers with 5 AIs, to understand Indigenous Australians’ experiences of discrimination when accessing health services.

This project is funded by an NHMRC Ideas Grant.
