Researcher biography

Carolina recently worked with UQ's Centre for Social Responsibility in Mining (CSRM), where her research — in partnership with CWiMI — developed a decision-making framework to guide post-closure transition and build water and energy resilience in remote and climate-fragile communities, drawing on two mine closure projects in northern Chile. She holds a degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Chile and a Master's in Sustainable Energy and Management from UQ, and brings more than seven years' experience across energy, sustainability, and community engagement, working with industry, government, academia and NGOs in Latin America and Australia.
